I think about the safe place we all create within ourselves.
It looks very much like that first place. The round insides of someone else’s body, where all you can hear is the echo of things and all you can see is pink mist. You should let it go, but you don’t.
This safe place becomes a secret retreat, a shelter, inside our heads, a reality, parallel to the one we share with each other.
Try and take a moment to visualise yourself, and anyone else, walking around with a shelter in their head.
There is an intense amount of energy between these parallel places that never touch.
“Belly ache” is as much an environment as it is an examination of a psychological state. When we are born, we enter a fragmented state. This exhibition leads a fragmentary reading of a fragmented condition.
This feeling of pain, the agony that one experiences when entering the world is universal, it is hyper temporal.
We had it once, when time hadn’t started. We might spend our whole lives trying to get it again, to recreate that space when nothing had started nor ended.
Time is going to finish, because it started. You have started – now you have to finish.
